Got this month's home phone bill from AT&T and was surprised that it went up a few bucks. Anyone else notice?

Yes, they are now charging an equipment fee. I first noticed it on my bill last month.

Oh, surely you recall jbtaurus98 - or, maybe you don't if you aren't "of an age" like some of us. It was that giant monopoly that the Feds spent zillions busting up decades ago - only for them to eventually be allowed to buy back many of the spinoff companies....
