Ever have to wait a long time for some person/entity for no legitimate reason? Here's what I did once.
The Gas Co. wanted to read my meter. They showed up when I was gone, as usual. I finally scheduled a reading on a Saturday. Of course the only time frame I could get was "sometime" Sat. Well, I waited all day-for a no-show.
I then typed out a nice bill for "waiting services", @ $14 dollars per, with time and one-half(Saturdays are overtime days). I sent this bill to the gas co. Sat. night. Monday morning at 8 AM, a supervisor called me and asked if he could read my meter, at 1 PM. He had my letter on his clipboard, and apologized, offering some excuse for the meter reader not showing up.
I didn't get paid for my wasted time, but I got someones attention.
We had the gas company put our meter outside the house years ago. We dont have these issues.
That's great. Can't wait til you have to send it to small claims and then collection.
Billy, I too have my meter outside. Only becasue of lessons learned. I hate when they say they will be there between 9 to 5. Using a vacation day to wait for utility service is not a vacation.

Here is an interesting idea. You start a service that charges for receiving spam.
Cable is that way. They tell you they will be at your house in the afternoon, so you end up waiting all day. I had to wait for them until after 7 p.m. one Saturday when I was told it would be "some time in the afternoon."
Doctors are also terrible. They pack in the patients to get the best bang for their buck. Then you have to wait over an hour. I should give him a bill for my time, since he's making money off my time.
