My wife and I are going to start contacting some roofing companies for some quotes/ work on our house. While we always check BBB, I always like to get some firsthand experiences. Anyone with a good (or bad) experience? Any insight would be appreciated.
Any Insight/ Experience with Roofing Companies?

Postal - we used All-Nu Construction. They'd done some work with siding for us and we were very happy with not only the quality of the work, but the clean up as well.
When we needed the roof done several years ago, we called them back. They did not disappoint, as the quality of the work was still excellent. I especially liked how careful they were with the flowers that abut the house as they discarded the old roof...
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the insight, you two. We wouldn't mind working with a company that does more than roofs, because we may get the house sided this summer as well.
Gillette Roofing is a very good company. I know Dave, he's a good man, and his prices are really decent too!

I used Integrity Roofing and was quite pleased. Excellent quality of work and he actually was the cheapest quote out of the 5 or 6 I got. That’s not why I went with him though, it just worked out that way.
You can be the coolest kid on your block both literally and illiterally if you score a green roof. And it also provides a nice camouflage to keep Santa at bay this Christmas in July.

Salgau did a complete tear off of our crazy "gothic revival" roof. Great job.

My neighbor does roofing as well as other remodeling. Hes kinda a perfectionist though, for example on walls that are not exactly straight he custom cuts each individual rafter so everything he puts on is perfectly straight within a 1/4 inch. I think personally hes a little crazy about it, but he gets no complaints. Im sure he can show photos of work hes done if your interested, call Matt or Brenda at 734-848-9912

Thanks for all the input. It is greatly appreciated. Charlatan, a green roof is out of the question because of our roof's pitch. Besides, a retro fit can be very pricey.
Regardless, my wife and I are in the earliest stages of a new build. A green roof is a possibility, although I think we'll end up with a metal roof.
I second the recommendation for Integrity Roofing. Adam gave us a reasonable quote for a full tear-off and re-roof. When he had to replace a few sections of roofing board, the extra charges were marginal. He's a fair man who did a great job.
Postal, we considered re-roofing with metal because of the recent design innovations that make the product appealing. Couldn't locate a local installer with experience and sure didn't want to be a guinea pig for something as important as a roof install.
