I think politicians are like dogs chasing the wrong car. Why worry about nationalizing health insurance? The way gas prices keep going up, what we need is gasoline insurance. Free surgery, free doctor visits , and free hospital stays are all fine and dandy, but just how important will that be-if we can't afford the fuel to drive there?

The elite (who now run the nation almost completely) have planned correctly that you'll pay for medical care at any rate since you're so afraid of getting ill and dying. Eventually you'll have to sell the 2nd car, take the kid out of private school, and stop eating out ... just to make sure your HSA is full enough.
I dare you to tell me I'm wrong about that.
Economic policy and regulations determine prices, not free markets.
Health care also starts with clean water, clean food, appropriate labels... and plenty of aspartame and msg... oops.
Most, 95% of politicians only care about keeping their job. They only speak the speak determined by polls, most are re-elected by corporate contributions, so only the corporate will determines policy. Thats why its better to "elect" our leaders by lottery than by vote. It's been good enough for selecting soldiers, it should be a PERFECT way to elect people who aren't pre-selected corporate whores.
