I've always been a big fan of opensource software. I used OpenOffice for years, then I switched to LibreOffice just because. Everything was going great until today.
I had a series of *.doc files which I created with LibreOffice. The client needs *.docx files. No problem. Just open and save as a type docx, right?
Wrong. Real wrong.
Somehow, 221 pages turned into 4. The file size is okay as is seen in the directory, it's just that most of the document is missing.
A little digging on the Internet revealed that this is not a uncommon occurrence, and the authors do not consider it a severe error.
So I was wondering if anyone else had experience with this or had every heard of it before. Me, I'm breaking my piggy bank and going out to buy a copy of Micro$oft Word for Windoze XP.
I don't live right.
