Somango is a rednose pitbull, he is 11 yrs old, UKC/ADBA registered. he is a retired show dog, and very friendly. Last night we let him out before we went to bed, and when we called him back, he didn't come. We went out calling him, and noticed fresh human tracks and fresh dog tracks heading toward the road, and then disappearing. Somango has been with our family, since he was born. His dam was also our dog, so we have had him his whole life. He usually waits at the back door, when he is done doing his business, but he wasn't there last night. He is orange in color, like fall leaves. he is very lean and tall. he was a conformation champ, before he retired. He is very smart, loves treats, and kids. We live near Laskey, and Tremainsville.

Is he micro-chipped? If yes, please issue an alert through the appropriate source.
Sorry to hear this - I sincerely hope you get him back.
I posted on Facebook. Check this group https://www.facebook.com/groups/lostandfoundpets2/
newintown - call K100 radio station they will announce it. They have been very successful reuniting lost pets with their owners.
Please keep checking with the animal shelters and the Lucas County dog warden. On several occasions we have thought that pets were gone for good--but we've always had a happy ending. Don't give up hope!
Thank you all, for all the help. Somango is an exceptionally good dog, and we are looking at his bed, and we just can't stop crying. I may not be the best human in the world, but I would never take anyone's pet. Thank you all, my newfound friends, for all the support. I am so sad right now, but knowing there are people that understand my pain, is enormously helpful. This sucks so bad. I hope whoever took him from our yard, will love him.
Sorry :( I will keep my ears open. Did you say he is microchipped?
newintown: Try posting on the Facebook page Toledo Area Lost and Found Pets. You have to join the group but post something there. My nephew's German Shepard Dog jumped his fence in east Toledo in October. He posted there and his dog was found hours later in Oregon. Someone posted they had found a dog like his with photo. Although the circumstances surrounding your dog's disappearance are heartbreaking, someone out there knows something. I hope it helps. I feel so bad for you.
I agree with Golddustwoman regarding Toledo Area Lost and Found Pets on Facebook. I am amazed how many dogs and cats are reported lost and found on that site. Also, I have a friend who is a volunteer at the Lucas County dog warden's and I'm told there are quite a few pit bulls there right now. You may want to keep checking there.
Someone on Craigslist found a dog that sounds like Somango - all except the marks on it that may be due to abuse. Perhaps the person who "stole" him may have caused injury. Sounds like a very sweet dog, though.
damn I wish newintown had left a phone number!!! I wrote the guy on craigslist to please holds the dog and only give it to someone who identifies himself as having posted here as newintown.
Does anyone live near Laskey/ Tremainsville? That's the area they live in. There may be telephone pole missing poster with a number in that area of town.
can someone who is a member check the lost and found fb page to see if he might have left a number? I just requested to join but have to be approved before I can see posts.
nevermind, I have a friend there, she sees toledolatina's post and another one from today, but that's not the same dog, only about a year old, according to the finder.
the finder wrote me back, there's no chance that it's newintown's dog, it's only been a week gone and this dog had lost a lot of weight and had time to put it back on, so probably not the same dog. oh well.
I still have not found him, but our neighbor told me, she saw somebody walking a dog, get into a minivan, that night. I know his prints disappeared on the street, so he was probably the dog. I just remain hopeful that whoever took him, loves him....and that maybe he will get away, and get home. I have not lived here long, so that worries me, but I know if he is able, he will come home to his family!
