I've seen other stuff on their account that looks like a Jr. High student posted it.
No! Imagine that.
Like most TV... I don't know, maybe all TV, they don't have real reporters or journalists. At least, not in the way you and other well-educated people might think of them. What they have are drama queens and talking heads, all of whom are somewhat narcissistic speed talkers. Translate that into the pseudo written word, and if you can reach the junior high school level I'd say you're doing exceptionally well, or like the public school system, you've lowered the bar. Again.
Good observation, by the way.
Very true. However, the public is too dumb to notice that TMZ is also not news. So the less actual journalism, the higher the ratings. I always notice the schmendricks joking it up, instead of giving facts. I have also recently noticed that local news does not give more than 4 stories of local news... and turns to Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Flint news. etc. Like we really care about a house fire in Bay City, unless we are a relative or friend of the victim!
I still cannot get over Chris Peterson covering WTOL's stream, showing she will be on at 5 PM. I thought she was retired... maybe not then.
Accuracy is a problem here. So is appearances of reporters and anchors. Some wear clothes several sizes too small for their chunky frame (weekend girl), some wear overdone necklaces, some clearly are not prepped, and face looks more made up after commercial breaks. Yes, we do notice it. I'm just the first to say anything.
WTOL really has some issues... but then again all stations in this market do.
I just cannot see why a no-news area, has to have as much news as it does... other than bilking clients of cash. In this case, they really need to have a discount, due to the lack of professionalism, and too few (if any) brand new stories.
