Pet store stops selling treats from China

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/05/20/petco-to-stop-selling-treats-made-in-china-after-pet-deaths-reported/

I can't believe the FDA is stumped as to why many pets are dying from eating treats from China. This has been going on for years. Hopefully, more pet stores will follow suit and stop selling food/treats from China.

Um..........look at your labels......there is a huge amount of "food" for human consumption made in this polluted, communist hell hole.

But, hey Americans - keep on buying their crap - it's cheap!

It is also alarming that the U.S. has approved the processing of U.S. chicken in China before it heads back to the U.S. market, and it doesn't have to show it on the label, so you are in the dark about the chicken you are eating may have been processed in China:

This is particularly troubling, as noted in the article:

"Not offering a country-of-origin label leaves consumers in the dark, with no way of knowing if they are eating a product that comes from a country that has recently seen a series of food safety scandals, like China, where there was a recent outbreak of H7N9 bird flu virus in fresh meat markets. "

I generally do not trust products made in China and as a rule try not to buy things that I would ingest or apply to my body. I would not give them to my dog or cat to each much less myself.

Sadly, that's the entire history of food in America, and the reason our meats especially aren't sought after. Nobody wants our pork, because we bread all the fat out of it to make super lean hogs, at the cost of all the flavor. We eat flavorless chicken, because it's a lot cheaper to sell an 8 week old chicken than to wait a few months for something that will have developed an actual flavor. (Case in point: everyone says things "taste like chicken," because our chicken tastes exactly like whatever seasoning we put on it, not like chicken.)

I'll end my mini-rant there, but really, if we're going to get up in arms about other countries cutting corners on food for the sake of a profit, we should fix our own methods first.
