Toledo Talk

Keith Burris- Collins=Jimmy Carter as a compliment?

Mr. Collins is more Jimmy Carter than Ronald Reagan right now — a very decent and honest man who has a very real management problem and an acute communication problem. If Jimmy Carter had gotten better at managing and communicating, he would have been re-elected and the country would have been spared “trickle down economics.”

The re-election of Jimmy Carter would have deprived us of the longest sustained period of economic growth since World War II.

Yeah, and also the largest increase in our national debt since that time, too.

By "that time" he means the exponential shocking increase of Chairman Obama. Like all other presidents combined. But in defense of prior presidents, they weren't actually trying to destroy the country, like it appears Chairman Obama is.

Ask the Fed Reserve to remove the $2+ trillion on the books that it owes itself if you are worried about the debt. They could do it today if they wanted to. End of the day, we are in a society with a debt-based currency system...I don't think many really understand it. The debt will never be paid off. When it becomes too much of an issue we'll end up moving to some new crazy ass currency system.

It's nothing, but if people complain about debt spending they could ask for that to be written off.

Both parties in power LOVE to spend...just on different things. Everything about the world economy right now is based on debt.

Yeah, that's right. Reagan didn't do any of that stuff.

No matter what pot-smoking liberal hippy communists say:

In first 5 years:

GDP Growth
Reagan: 8.8%
Chairman Obama: 2.7%

Median income growth:
Reagan: 7.7%
Chairman Obama: -4.8%

Debt increase:
Reagan: $1.105 Trillion
Chairman Obama: $6.66 Trillion (Hmmm... 666)

Jobs created:
Reagan: 5,700,000
Chairman Obama: 1,287,000

Cold wars ended:
Reagan: 1
Chairman Obama: International laughingstock and Putin's bitch

So, Chairman Obama and the Weather Underground Cabinet have simply done what they always wanted to do to a country that they are ashamed of and hate: Destroy it.

Differing political viewpoints and general critiquing of any sitting president aside, you can't possibly believe what you typed here.

For such a seemingly smart guy on other topics tossed around here, you've suddenly become a box of rocks.

Proof of that being...how he has run up more debt than all other presidents combined...is that right?

Median income growth: Reagan: 7.7%

Would you like to contrast that with top-tier income growth during the same time? How about productivity levels? How about top tax rates relative to median?

Cold wars ended: Reagan: 1

Dictatorial governments and terrorists secretly funded and armed: Jesus...how many was it again?

And, actually, your slur about pot-smoking communist hippies was ad hominem. McCaskey's comment was not. He was not using your traits to discredit your argument; he was using your argument to form an opinion of you. Whereas you were subtly throwing out a nonsensical insult to some cartoonish imagined foe in order to discredit their opinion. You also misspelled "hippie." Unless you were referring to pot-smoking communists with a little extra weight around their midsection?

Also, your argumentative and slightly deranged manner this evening makes me suspect you have been drinking.

Those were the most recent I could find. If it has surpassed that becnhmark, where's the coverage? All of the "news" outlets propogating that story in 2012 (the same time those rebuttals were published) seem to be silent on the issue now. Brietbart, the Blaze, Drudge, etc. A quick google search brings up nothing other than stuff from 2012.

We should use the Piven and Cloward theory taught at Columbia to the class of 1983 Marxists who cheered when Reagan was shot to bring down the fact cats and usher in a new era of social justice and economic redistribution.

This is why it is important to have your hyperbole and sarcasm meters calibrated once in a while.
