Luca County Job & Family Services

Have any of you been stuck on Monroe Street about 4:30pm when one of the Sheriffs pulls out and stops all the traffic to allow every one of the cars in the Luca County Job & Family Services parking lot to leave? It took 7 minutes yesterday! I feel this is totally inappropriate and unfair to those who are inconvenienced. Why do they get this special treatment?

Call your friend Allan Block and report this. Make sure it's after he's done calling a Tony Packos waitress a "fucking idiot" for him getting hot dog sauce on his hands while eating.

I know nothing about that and will say that if true, i's indefensible. However, I don't know what this has to do with the fact that only John Block has stopped the presses or just because I know this it makes me a "friend" of Allan Block. Maybe I work at the Blade?

Yes, I've been been caught in it multiple times, and it annoys me every single time.

I would say they justify it as protecting the safety of the citizenry because 1) too many accidents happened at that time/location and 2) the city can't afford to install a stop light.

Is it fair? No, but it happens just like the school buses start pulling out in front of traffic (without a light or cops present - at least they do at Southview) without stopping.

I think I am with mrsA on this. I go through that intersection almost every day and you have people trying to force their way in to the lane to turn left on Cherry. Often traffic is backed up past the previous street (can't remember the name) causing a mess.

Plus, my thought is, if you work for Job and Family Services...God bless you...go ahead of me. :)

I LOVE THIS THREAD. Traffic is stopped for several minutes and all the sudden it's "special treatment"
HOW DARE THEY
Same with funeral processions. I mean, come on. They're already dead, what's the hurry

Asked a friend who works at JFS. Turns out the police that help traffic at quittin time already work in the building. It isn't a special unit just for them. Before the Sheriff helped the flow of traffic (*the only thing they are good at) there were very regular accidents that held up traffic. Far longer than 7 minutes. But I'll ask my friend if maybe, after working to help the helpless and downtrodden all day, they'll have time to apologize for your very very minor inconvenience.
