Driving pass the Sofo's on Bennett today and noticed their sign mentioned "cash and carry". Is that an outlet type place? Just wondering :)

You can buy some stuff there - even in bulk but it has nowhere near the selection at the Monroe Street store.
Actually, they have a HUGE selection, thousands of items, most of which get delivered to restaurants in 18 states. They are located in the warehouse at that same location. The cash & carry only stocks the most popular items that customers (local restaurants and bars) come in and ask for, though they will pull any item you need from the warehouse. They ARE open to the public, but most items are foodservice sized.
I have a commercial account at Sofos and get items there for my business. If you don't mind buying in bulk, their prices are phenomenal. A friend of mine, who does not have an account there, buys Caputo Italian pizza flour from their cash and carry. He calls it in ahead of time and it is ready when he gets there. He pays half as much as he would buying retail. Plus that flour is hard to find locally.
I should have said they have nowhere the selection on display at the Bennet location and since you can't browse through the warehouse, the Monroe Street location is the better place to see what they offer.
Yes true, and while you can get some of the same items at both locations (pizza crusts, some cheeses/pastas), most of the items are different.
Bumping this! Is it literally "cash" only, and also do they have bread? Don't mind buying in bulk, but I'm wondering what's the smallest amount of say... cheese one could buy?
Cash, checks, or credit cards are all accepted. No fresh bread, just a few frozen varieties, sub buns, breadstix, etc. in bulk for restaurants. Cheese would depend what you are looking for. Shredded cheeses in 2lb. or 5 lb. bags. Several basic varieties in 8oz blocks (mozz/prov/chedr/feta, etc), the rest would be in 5 lb. to 10 lb. loafs like what you would find behind a deli case. If you don't see something you want, ask as there is no way they could display every single item in that cash & carry. The warehouse cooler alone is over 70,000 sq. feet. The cash & carry started as a service for the restaurants Sofo's services, for them to come pick up items they need before their next delivery. But it is open to the public.
Open during the week till 5:00
Open on Saturday till Noon.
Thur/Fri they are open until 6:00. 33 year employee in their offices here. I'm not familiar with ALL of the items they have, but most. Any questions, just ask!
