Last year I got my mother Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook Collection. She's a bit north of 70, but when playing it at a party she was having, people from teenage on up commented on how much they liked it.
wouldnt recommend it for the whole evening's fare, but if you want to mix in some slow songs to dance to, you cant beat it.

No offense, but aside from the Daft Punk and Everything But the Girl tracks, I'd rather gouge my ears out than hear any of those songs....
