Drinkers don't exhale toxins into the air for their fellow humans to "enjoy". I don't think the gov't should get involved in banning smoking in bars though. I think a more effective way of handling it would be for the non-smokers to carry a bottle of spray cologne/perfume into the bar, and just spray it into the air everytime someone exhales smoke. Maybe the smokers would breathe it in. Same thing, right?

Btw, El Camino's is great.

Some great food there and the margs are killer.

el caminos wins for food, drinks and most importantly atmosphere. even when their food isnt perfect, they make up for it with awesome service. we are lucky to have a locally owned chain with such high quality in the toledo area.

Is it true they are now charging gentlemen $5.00 cover? Maybe on wekends only?

Well I couldnt tell while yall were suckin back margaritas at dinner....It takes an hour to get a beer out of your system and I know you alchys drink more than 3 so I know your not sittin there for 3 hours waitin for your BAL to go down.... Your sittin there suckin down more..... Then you stumble out to your car and drive home drunk and supportin DUI. We'd be a lot safer if Marijuana was legal in bars and not Alcohol.

No, but drunk drivers kill about 17,000 people in the U.S. each year. "On average someone is killed by a drunk driver every 39 minutes." Insignificant, I know, but hey, we invaded a country, maybe two, because "only" 3,000 people died one day back in 2001. We don't need terrorists to wreak havoc on the homeland. We've got plenty of idiot Americans consuming too much alcohol along with a broken justice system that allows double-digit DUI offenders to roam free and drive.

And El Camino Real has good food.

I agree - the food at El Caminos is yummy. I can't testify to the margaritas though as I don't drink.

I don't get it. Proud of what? The fact that it was only 3,000 people and not that big of deal numbers-wise when compared to almost 120,000 people in the U.S. who have been killed by drunk drivers since 9/11.

Why were those comments made? I assume those comments were a response to the abrupt swerve this thread took toward the issue of smoking bans applied to private businesses. And to me, those two comments above implied that drinking alcohol has no side effects, and I simply gave numbers to prove otherwise, and I compared those numbers to something that's in the news and receives a ton of money.

Clearly, some people have selective concerns when it comes to the public's health. "Ban or limit that which I don't like, but leave my activity alone."

In order for smoking ban proponents to be intellectually consistent, they must promote bans and limits on alcohol, junk food, driving while talking on a cell phone, and other health concerns that hurt innocent people and affect all of our health care costs and options.

jr, my comments regarding alcohol were in response to darkseid's comparison of smoking and drinking. You brought up drunk driving, which is an entirely different subject. Drinking, in and of itself, doesn't affect fellow patrons--smoking does. That being said, I don't prefer bans.

Agree great food, they have the best Salsa. Another think local place is Rio Grande over near Reynolds.

What about the place in Genoa called Ernestos? I have never been. Any good?

I've never been to Ernestos but El Salto in Maumee is good. I like the Burrito Hogado and the Alambre.

I have only been to El Saltos once, but did not eat. I just had a drink. Although I will say they were very busy, yet still quick to place orders.

Ernestos is so-so. Its your regular mexican food with yellow cheese melted on top! I like their refried beans though. Friends say their margis are good too. I don't drink margis so I'm no help there!! If you're looking for good mexican food, I don't know that I would necessarily recommend them.

I like El Vaquero in Pburg. Yum!!! Friends also say their margis are good too.

Knock it off ToledoLatina. Don't even bring up tacos or you will start an all out brawl in this forum. For me, the word taco just makes me horny. :)
