I'm getting the boxes from U-Haul, but I'm in need of vast quantities of Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, and packing paper. Where is the best place to get some of this stuff in quantity? I'm going broke at the U-haul place.

Ask liquor stores for boxes. Some people use bed llines and towels to wrap breakables.
Don't buy boxes at uhaul. They are expensive. You can buy the same boxes at Home Depot for much, much cheaper. Plus, always check craigslist. Here's an ad I just saw for moving boxes:
I've purchased boxes and packing material at Home Depot, pretty reasonable prices for these items there if you are buying new. Also for boxes check with your local ice cream parlor...they open a lot of sturdy boxes every day and many places will hold them for you if you pick them up promptly.
ad from Ann Arbor's craigslist if you're willing to drive
Use the "heavy duty" boxes from Home Depot. Lighter duty is more for storage, not moving.
Been there, done that.
Two great moving tips: 1) mark all the boxes in the same way for easy "sorting" later. I make a box in the upper left corner of the top indicating what room they go in...MBR=Master bed room, K=Kitchen, etc. 2) Stretch wrap, they have the narrow rolls of it at Home Depot with their packing materials, it's like 8 or 10 inches wide. Use it to secure dresser drawers, cabinet doors, etc so they don't open while you are moving them and the stretch wrap does not stick to anything but itself.
Madjack, I can bring you a roll of shrink wrap and some blank 3 × 5 labels. You have my business card with phone number.
