Toledo Talk

Realtor Suggestions?

Do any TT'ers have a realtor they'd recommend for selling a home? I'd prefer someone with ties to West Toledo/ Old Orchard, but would eagerly explore other options.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

Todd Richards with Loss Realtors... I have heard good things about Effler Realtors.

I used Melissa Utterback with Danberry when I purchased my home, and plan to use her again soon. She's absolutely awesome. Talks like a human, is honest to a fault, and works hard for you. Highly recommended.

We just closed on a house purchase for my daughter and used Tammy Frye from Remax. Works all areas and we are extremely happy. She stays in touch, works her tail off and is a really nice person as well.

Highest recommendation!!!

I'd recommend Tony Bassett from Danberry. His number is 419-340-7843.

He handles a lot of home sales in Old Orchard and west Toledo and is a life long Toledoian

Melissa Glaze - Danberry. She is a resident of Old Orchard.

+1 for Tammy Frye. Used her on the buy side a decade ago. At the closing table I noticed the home warranty was nowhere in the paperwork and she decided to cover it out of her commission. Planning to use her soon to list.

Here's a hoist of my afternoon bourbon glass to Molsonator and Hoops for hijacking steering this thread into a more diverse and interesting direction.

I, by the way, enthusiastically recommend Mi Mexico in Columbus. ¡Excelente!

I'm interested in the commission percentage. It seems to vary slightly. I have a home to sell, in a few days. Haven't yet found a realtor I'm comfortable with.

I'm also interested in a real-estate appraiser. Who's good and what's the customary cost?

None of them are worth a tinker's damn, and the cost starts at $300.

Brad Crown of Remax!! He sold my uncle's home in Old Orchard!

*Typical commission for residential in Toledo is 6 to 7 percent all paid by the seller. And I agree with madjack that an appraiser is a waste. Seeing the realtors commission is based on sales price they are not going to list your price for less than what they think it's worth

Oh... there will be an appraisal... unless the buyer is paying cash.

Having said that, a good realtor can do a heck of a guess based on experience and comps if the appraisal is simply for the buyer to set expectations, rather than a bank to establish loan parameters.

Commission is something that is negotiable. Some realtors will lower the percentage to get your business.
