I'm surprised they are doing this before an election and not after. I can tell you that anyone that votes for this is not getting my vote this year. How convenient being able to vote a huge raise for yourself, I wish I had that kind of job.
And the amounts of these pay raises are asinine. It's not like they have done anything to deserve a raise.

It's ok. They get in office with like 10% of the city voting.
A tight analysis should be made of who on council are the pushing proponents of this raise. Any justification given can be easily dismissed in view of overall performance. They may feel like they are working hard and busy all the time, but so are kids in a schoolyard. The seeds for growth in the city are now just being planted and by many other influences than council driven. They need to wait for fruition and harvest before they rush in and take credit simply by being bystanders.
