Is Jon Stewart the Most Trusted Man in America?

An openly fake newscaster on a comedy TV station that costs a quarter a month to get is the most trusted man in the US. That might explain the world.

July 2004 Toledo Talk posting titled 'The Daily Show' wins news award that pointed to a Seattle Times article :

At the 20th annual Television Critics Association awards show Saturday night, members gathered to honor their choices for the best of the 2003-2004 season. Only television critics, for instance, would have conferred this year's prize for outstanding news and information programming to Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" - vaulting it over rivals like PBS' "Frontline" and ABC's "Nightline." It was a decision made on both merit and message. As my cross-town rival, Melanie McFarland of the Post-Intelligencer, said when presenting the award, at a time when the mainstream media seem cowed, Jon Stewart and company embody "a core of truth."

His show is full of a lot of comedy and some made up crap, but in reality...the stupidity of Americans and how they have all turned into blind lemmings is really the core of his show. A lot of the stuff doesn't seem beliveable until you realize...most of it is.
