Did Barnes and Noble on Secor closed

There is a book I wanted to get from B&N and was going to call the store on Secor by the University to see if they had it in stock and that store isn't listed on the B&N website any longer.

Did the store recently close. I drive by there about once a week and am pretty sure it was still open a couple weeks ago.

That's UT's bookstore, so it has to be open. I just don't know how much non-UT stuff it stocks. It's website is

I wasn't aware it was the official UT Bookstore. The signage indicates it's a B&N store not UT's bookstore.

I haven't been in the store in a long time but a few years ago they a lot of non-UT books and they accepted the B&N rewards card (it can probably only be used on non UT merchandise).

I'm surprised the UT union allowed them to privatize the bookstore

That location is not part of the actual B&N "chain". At Christmas I was at the Monroe St. location and they did not have the book I was looking for. The salesrep gave me some shipping options and when I asked if he could check the UT location, he told me he did not have access to their stock, and that they are "not really a B&N".
I miss Thackerays!

That B&N has B&N signage and for anyone driving down Secor it looks like a regular B&N store except smaller.

That store doesn't come up when you do a search on B&N's site. I want to buy the book Evil Brothers and wanted to try that store first since it's closest and couldn't find a phone number.

I wonder why they just don't name it the UT bookstore and allow B&N to run it. It's pretty deceiving

B + N has ran many book stores for University's for years. Not 100% sure but I think they ran it even when they were in Union. College Book stores are a dying breed as text books are moving towards rental and ebooks. BG's book store no longer stocks text books on site. And has changed name to Falcon Outfitters to reflect there main business selling cloths.

That BnN is the UT Bookstore. Even when it was in the Student Union at UT it didn't have any union employees, it was just a tenant. The new-ish location on Secor is still on UT's property, so it isn't like they're losing any money either. Maybe they were closed for the holiday since there were no classes?

When I went to UT many years ago I thought the bookstore full time employees were union and they hired a lot of seasonal student help.

I think they are still open. I thought maybe they had closed because you couldn't access the location on the B&N website.

If you still haven't found the number, it's 419-530-2516. I can't say for sure that they'll have the book. The main campus library does, but I don't know whether or not the bookstore is selling it.
