The sad thing is the people responsible for the bad decisions aren't the ones who will suffer. The big shots who kept making fuel inefficient vehicles will, at worst, get a golden parachute. The little guys, the workers, who just do what they are told will be the ones losing their jobs.

Like what happened when the govt. bailed Chrysler/Jeep out?

Pssst, Chrysler got the loan guarantees well before they even owned Jeep. As a matter of fact, they may have even finished paying them back before then.

No American auto company has competed in a free market during its history. The auto industry is a great example of how dysfunctional socialism is.

How sad. After being decimated by fixed labor markets it now runs to the government for help - kind of like a battered wife running to a pimp.

Simple really - study the market, and "supply" a product that the market "demands".

OR put out a thoroughly shitty product, but trick America into thinking it's everything you need, a la - Harley Davidson.

Either way, if you reward corporations or individuals for non performance, you'll continue to be financially drained, and they'll continue the non-performance.
