Carty Finkbeiner's approval rating is 17 percent

Sep 25, 2008 - WTOL - Mayor Finkbeiner's approval rating lowest ever :

Fewer and fewer Toledoans now feel Carty Finkbeiner is getting results as mayor. "The approval rating for mayor is the lowest I've seen in any of the research I've done on the mayor's race going over 20 years," says Stan Odesky whose office did the poll.

A new Odesky poll of nearly 200 Toledoans shows the mayor with an approval rating of 17 percent. Last year, his approval rating was 36 percent. "We said that was probably at the stage the mayor could not win trying to run again... and he's half that," Odesky says.

"I think he does too much micro-management. He gets into things he shouldn't get into. I'm not extremely happy with Carty," says Dave Macy. "The Toledo economy... jobs just moving out of the area. It's not a place a lot of young people want to live in, and I think there needs to be new leadership," Robert Wells tells us.

According to Odesky, the new poll should provide fuel for those considering to run in next year's race. With that being said, Odesky doesn't expect this poll to affect Carty Finkbeiner's decision whether or not to run again. "Other times, it looked like it would be very difficult, but he'd still come through. You can never count him out. That's for sure."

Mayor's response: A statement from the mayor says, "Leaders lead. Pollsters poll. The only poll that ever counts is the poll taken on election day."

The delusional mayor fancies himself as a leader.

Next summer should be another morbidly fun mayoral primary season like last time.

Keith Wilkowski is in the background on the left. Opal Covey has her ear to a phone held by a Carty Finkbeiner campaign supporter. Carty was on the other end of the phone line.

Once J.R. Block gives you Mayor Konop, you'll wish you had the maniac back.

This has the similarities of Springfield on the Simpson's.

Has Konop gotten a new speech coach yet, or does he still talk in that ridiculous phoney baritone frog voice?

At least it's a positive number. Cartholomeaux is all about optimism, even when it fails him.

I'd prefer an internets meme for mayor or a lottery ala Shirley Jackson.

Ben Kanop needs one of those little curved plastic tubes the dentist uses to take care of the excessive saliva production he seems to be plagued with. Maybe it could be solar operated with a small pump mounted in a hard hat with the solar array on top.
