This question, about Obamas citizenship, is not going away. Why won't he produce birth certificates?
A Citizen, or Not a Citizen?

Never heard any questions regarding his citizenship. Have heard regarding McCain. Don't care to have either of them verify their birth records.
It took 2 seconds to find. It's called google. You should google it sometime.

He did. As another post already submitted. He also put it up for public viewing to end this silly witch hunt.
The comments on the link that charlatan posted are scary. People are questioning why its a modern printed birth certificate, and stating that it must be a fake because of that? I bet they all wear tinfoil hats at night to keep the voices out too. lol
If for whatever reason you don't have access to your original birth certificate, you are able to get a certified copy from the Health Department. That certified birth record serves exactly the same legal purpose as your original birth certificate.
In fact, I have a certified copy of my own birth certificate printed last year...my parents have my original in their safety deposit box, but I needed access to a copy right away. It is just as legal as my original.
There are plenty of valid reasons why a person might not have access to their original birth certificate anymore...damaged in fires or floods, lost while moving, parents kept it and never gave to the child, etc. Hell, my husband's grandmother had to provide her original birth certificate to get a passport, and the agency lost it! Poor woman held onto that original certificate for 70+ years, and then a stupid gov't employee lost it...
Anyhow, all this argument and speculation over whether Obama is a "real citizen" or not is just stupid. (I'm not a pro-Obama person, but I certainly believe he is a citizen.)
This is one of the comments:
1. The 14th Amendment and matching policy limit citizenship to either natural born or naturalized, but not both.
2. John McCain was born in 1936 in the Canal Zone to citizen parents.
3. 8 USC 1403(a) declares naturalized citizenship in 1952 on persons born in the Canal Zone to citizen parents.
4. Therefore, 8 USC 1403(a) applies to John McCain at age 16.
5. Therefore, John McCain is a naturalized citizen.
6. By treaty, the Canal Zone was not part of the United States.
7. Therefore, John McCain was not born in the United States.
8. Therefore, John McCain is a citizen not born in the United States.
9. Therefore, John McCain is not a natural born citizen.
10. Article II of the Constitution states to be President a person must be a natural born citizen.
11. THEREFORE, John McCain is not eligible to be President of the United States under Article II of the Constitution; he should be decertified and removed from all present and future Presidential ballots; and his past results should be disallowed, including unbinding all of his committed delegates.

Up until the late 60's most U.S. Birth Certificates listed Blacks as Negro or Black African and Whites from Africa were White African not just African. Now African-American or Afro-American is the norm for Blacks in the U.S. Do you think this thing could have been altered?

AmericanPie - I have seen a lot of birth certificate from different states, different time periods. (Used to work handling benefits for a large national corporation, and often had to request documentation from people.)
I've seen multiple variations of the way race is listed on birth certificates. Especially on the older ones. I even saw a birth certificate once that listed the person as "colored." (Can't remember which state that was off the top of my head...)
I honestly think that all this Obama birth certificate hype is a non-issue...people trying to create controversy where none actually exists.
(And I'm saying that as someone who intends to vote for a different candidate.)
I'm not a "birther" and I don't claim to know the journalistic integrity of WND but the smoking gun on this one will not stop smoking. Honestly I Barry has has done a poor job no matter where he was born, but hopefully people will stop taking Snopes.com as truth.
Dude, give it up. It is over. Hate him for his policies if you want, but this is a settled issue. As for the WND, even noted nutjob Ann Coulter thinks they are "fake Christians" and "publicity whores."

It is ironic that we, a nation of immigrants, are so xenophobic about immigrants. Let it die, let it die.

Don't you get it, just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you "hate" them. Holy shit we have become so damn polarized that if you don't agree with someone you are a racist, knuckle dragger, liberal moonbat, or tea bagger, xenophobe. There was a time when you could freely question things without everything turning into us vs them, facts or fact finding is not political.
OK - Enough with the "a nation of immigrants" line, 75% of the industrialized world are nations of immigrants.
The Left questioned EVERYTHING about GWB, from his education records, military service records, private business balance sheets, EVERYTHING. Hell we even had a 30 min weekly cartoon created especially to defame a sitting American President. Imagine the fury if someone aired a cartoon about a black President who smoked pot, did lines, played basketball, and had entertainers over to "his house" who advocated gun violence, illegal drug trade, prostitution, all while they played basketball. See how long that would last with out Christiane Amanpour's head exploding.
I don't think it's important that we verify that the President was born in this country, it's kinda in the Constitution (which doesn't hold any weight I guess anymore). If he would have handed the damn thing out in the first place there would have never been an issue.
And for those of you who believe you should have to show "papers" to enjoy some of the privileges we have in the this country (ie being the President), the next time you get pulled over for a missing tail light tell the friendly officer he don't need to see your ID. Oohh and when you go to get on your next flight, tell the TSA agent you are offended by having to produce documents. Tell me how well that works out for you.
Truth is treason in the empire of lies.
The controversy over the color / black/ African portion doesn't bother me since he was actually an African, what does bother me looking at the above picture is the the word laser in the lower left corner, did they use laser printers back in 1961 or would it be more likely it would have been typed on a typewriter?

He DID hand out the same "birth certificate" that everybody else born in Hawaii uses to get passports, etc. No one has access to their original in Hawaii, he had to make a special request to the state to have it released. It's not like he had the original in his desk drawer and didn't release it until this past spring. He went over and above in indulging the conspiracy nuts, and the ones that are left still doubting will never be satisfied no matter what he produces.

You, sir, have won the Moron of the Month trophy, because apparently "digitalization of records" never occured to you or any of the other "they computerized everything and put it into standard forms" stuff that's done these days.

I lived in Hawaii for a time. My wife was born there. The type of birth certificate she has looks exactly the same as the image above (obviously with her name and info on the cert). It's what you get in the state of Hawaii. Was it always that way--no. Obviously the state--as AC notes--has digitized records. I don't think my wife could get her "original" anymore...this is what you get, what you get, what you get (repeating so it sinks in) in the state of Hawaii.
We were married in 2006 and our certificate, instead of "Certification of Live Birth" says "Certification of Marriage". Same type of certificate (green). It's a standard form in Hawaii.
Y'all know me to be a conservative and not a fan of Mr. Obama...but this issue is stupid and a waste of time and resources.

AC why are you attacking me for asking a question? Have I offended your hero? Wouldn't a digitized copy of a record be just that? A copy? Why would it be on a modern form? I give a crap about proving one way or another his citizenship. If this is supposed to be a copy of the original non-handed out form why is it on a modern form? You seriously need to put down the Koolaid and stop watching MSNBC, I thought the right wingnuts were bad with their conspiracy theories but you seem to see everyone that doesn't buy the official story as having ulterior motives.

The State of Ohio uses the same type of form to print certified copies. (Only difference is that its blue instead of green, and says Ohio instead of Hawaii.)
My parents have my original Ohio birth certificate from 1974, so I know exactly what it looks like.
I obtained a certified copy a few years ago from the Lucas County Health Department, and as I said...its the same type of form that Hawaii uses. Only difference is that its blue and says its for Ohio.
They don't issue copies that look exactly like your original birth certificate - you get a digital printout on the modern form.
If you don't believe it, go request a copy of your own birth certificate and see what you get.
P.S. For the record, I didn't vote for Obama, so its not as though I'm blindly supporting "my hero" (as you stated above).
Ok Mom, all I was asking, was under the understanding it was a copy of the original, not a reprinted on modern forms. Understand now, thanks.

So anyone with some blank forms can do anything they want, if they wanted to. just saying.
posted by Linecrosser on Aug 17, 2011 at 05:07:26 pm #
They have built in some safeguards to prevent deception.
For example, the health department clerk embosses it with a raised seal. The certified copy is only officially valid if it has the raised seal on it.
Someone would need to have access to blank forms and the embosser to make the raised seal in order to create good fake.
I'm not saying that it could never happen. But I bet it would be more difficult to fake the raised seal than it would be for someone to forge what appeared to be an original, old birth certificate.
The fact that this is still a topic of discussion shows just how stubborn ignorance and prejudice can be.
I deeply admire the patience some have shown here in "explaining" the obvious.
