An ugly win to be sure, but it keeps Tom's job safe for another year.

I'm still in shock.

Nick Moore is a legit NFL prospect.

And Matt Millen's 31-84 is being threatened. Both Miami, OH and Wiskey could have easily won.

RichRod is probably not the best coach nor was he the best available at the time. Or even close. He won in the Big East when their top 3 teams left for the ACC. He can't sign a contract with outs and then wants out. He leaves a team that looked better w/o him the 1st game they played. He scares away his top receivers and QB that can actually run a 2 receiver progression and run. He throws up a gimmick scheme that will scare away kids that might want to be considered pro prospects. He costs Michigan over his contract in lawyer fees and buyouts.

Michigan's decision makers single-handedly ruined the best rivalry in football. They owe the nation an apology and resignation. Oh and you too Rich.

Did Ohio State make that decision for you?

They weren't beaten, they were slaughtered! I imagine Bo is shaking his head in shame right now! Worst start in 41 years!

Rivals.com: Michigan 2008 is officially Notre Dame 2007

So, yeah, it's a rebuilding year. Yeah, the offense is like all freshmen. Rich Rodriguez does not have to worry about his job a year into the thing. Michigan is still much, much worse than anyone expected, and not getting better in any apparent way. It's at an historical low rivaling what Notre Dame endured with similar turnover in the lineup last year.

The winningest program in the NCAA has its worst team. Hark back to the rumors of Les Miles....wait , he got clobbered too. Can you say, no bowl game?

Michigan could easily not win another game. Apparently they didn't screen Rod too hard.

10/18 @ No. 6 Penn State ESPN360.com 4:30 PM
10/25 No. 23 Michigan State TBA
11/01 @ Purdue TBA
11/08 @ Minnesota TBA
11/15 Northwestern TBA
11/22 @ No. 12 Ohio State TBA

Michigan racked up a lot of wins by having a 60 year head start on other programs and winning when it wasn't a competitive sport. Like when Toledo had an NFL team in the early 1900s.

I don't think anyone is going to beat penn state this year(in the B-10 atleast), and this is coming from a die hard Ohio state fan. They are just that good right now. Penn state made it look easy last night, when even Ohio State struggled last weekend. I would say Ohio State would give them a run,but the way they played yesterday and have been playing on offense I just don't see it. If Ohio state plans to win that game or any up the upcoming games they need to work on their offensive line.

As far as the Ohio State/and the team up north rivalry go, anyone that knows anything about this rivalry knows that season records go out the window. Either team considers a win over the other like winning a national championship. This is the reason these kids come to play for Ohio State or the team up north, they want to play in that game against the other school.

Au contraire great contrarian, as soon as there were four testicles there was most likely competition (examples include certain forum threads ^ as well as the gridiron). The fact that Michigan's program existed before others only serves to fortify it as one of the richest traditions in collegiate sports.

In agreement with rest of post.

It is hard to fathom that such a tradition at arguably one the finest public schools in the country would put its preservation at risk with this guy.

"He scares away his top receivers"

I hear Arrington is out for the year with the Saints.

Arrington left early to be a 7th round pick. He could have stayed and been the #2 Michigan receiver all time in terms of stats, provided they'd field a qb to get him the ball.

The 2 most well-known names Rodriquez coached are Pacman Jones and Chris Henry. Before that WVU produced Marc Bulger. He also started winning double digit games when the top 3 teams from the Big East left.

Most of Michigan's fabled history was achieved when Cornell, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale were dominant. And they played teams like Ann Arbor High School, American Medical, Adrian, Oberlin, Michigan Agriculture, Michigan Normal, Central State Teachers, Great Lakes, Iowa Pre-Flight, Camp Grant...

It's like adding your t-ball, little league, high school, and minor league stats to your major league totals.

Michigan took a guy running a gimmick offense that will scare away all the decent pro worthy linemen, receivers, passers, and runners they used to get.

That is ok they can come to Ohio State.

Each institution/team, however chartered (land grant, private, etc.,), has its own history, boosterism, local rivalries, culture, development and saga. Much of which meant vying for enrollments. Michigan's ascent has been defended on the field as well as the classroom and world stage.

Each school also has had its Arringtons and Manninghams and the lure of phat NFL contracts.

Speaking of OSU, Kudos for staying dudes and move over for X-Blue.

I've heard lots are leaving because they can't stand Rod.
