Dems and Reps Both Suck

I've had many heated debates with both sides, particularly the McCain supporters. The prominent point is that America is being stolen. Do you think that you have a chance to regain value through the bailout of the stock market? Do you think that Paulson, who made billions off of subprime loans, has any vested interest in saving your ass if you are not invested heavily in the stock market. Do you think that McCain or Obama understand who we are? It's time for a revolution, people. Silly as it may seem, there is no longer an interest on either side to provide for the common good of the average American. It's time that we all protest. Left, right, liberal, democrat, republican, conservative, crazy, racist, middle of the road, unassuming... it doesn't matter. Instead of fighting each other, we should be fighting for a better future. Paulson, Bush, Obama, McCain, Bernanke, congress and senate will not represent us. Darkseid, jr, charlatan, me, TAHL, and everyone should be mounting a campaign to go to Washington to displace the idiocricy that has forgotten democracy. I want a bus rally to Washington to say that we are no longer represented. I'll put up money for the bus if others are in. This separation has too long been preserved by Washington. Change (not the Obama or McCain type) now. Anyone in?

Here's the problem. Show up Monday morning at the Seagate Center and you'll likely witness a provincial sampling what the national majority of people think they want...the promise of money in their pockets, union jobs, free education, free healthcare, retirement security, 365 earth days annually, and whatever else the kool-aid contains. This entire political campaign has been a masters class in marketing, advertising, and a contender for a daytime soap award. Its what makes American consumers tick, tick, tick...sorry, I had too.

It doesn't matter. What matters is that we get changed accomplished. There will be no change with the current offerings. Both have voted for the bailout that is not in the best interest of average American. Bury the hatchet and let us make a change. It can happen

Name an institution that isn't corrupt or dishonest or lacking integrity... yet people still worship them.... all throughout history. Basic contract law would wipe out most businesses, schools, health care, military, etc. as we know it.

The stock market was never real investing unless you're issuing securities of a new or expanding company. The richest few percent own a majority of this. It's correcting itself. P/E ratios are way too high to support legit investment, so skimming is the order of the day.

America wasn't stolen. It's been the same since the Natives were wiped out, people enslaved, Shay's Rebellion, war profiteering etc.

It's probably self inflicted ignorance to think any other way.

JJFad emailed me and wrote that, despite our political differences, he'd like me to join in on this effort.

It's intriguing, but - as I am wont to do - it makes me ask all kinds of questions.

JJFad is correct that Americans are really not happy with the direction their country is going. This is seen in all the polls that ask: do you think America is headed in the right direction or the wrong direction?

The problem, though, is that pollsters only want to measure dissatisfaction - they never as WHY? They don't ask people who think we're going the wrong direction what the "right" direction would be. If they did, they'd get a variety of answers, but my speculation is that about half would say we need to move toward more government control because everything is out of control. I think the other half would say that we need more freedom from government because it's government that got us into these messes in the first place.

Basic 'liberal' vs. 'conservative' philosophy.

We can be for change, but the question that necessarily ensues is change 'to what?'

So if we go to Washington to demand change, what are we saying we want the change to be?

Aye, there's the rub.

I agree that most of the representatives in Congress (not all and not limited to one party) have forgotten for whom they work. But they all think they ARE representing us.

So, as I often asked while in office, what is the desired outcome? What is the goal we want to achieve in this effort? And, once said goal is identified and agreed upon, is this the best way to accomplish it?

Even if, in the end, some of us may disagree with the goal and the method, the 'effort' will be better for having addressed the questions.
