I haven't bought anything that required shipping for a good while. Though I can't believe how high it is now.
I was going to order a Pen and Pin online and the cost of shipping UPS Ground (cheapest) is $8.72. Again for a single Pen and a political Pin. That weighs what 1/4th a pound and maybe fit in an envelope. Yikes

My friend that is a rip-off. We ship 30 or so packages a day via UPS, and there is no way in hell it costs the pen company more than a couple dollars to send your package. Sending it through the mail is even cheaper.

It's like some of the 'FREE' stuff you hear or see in advertisements. They give you a telephone number, then tell you that yes, it's free, but to get it you have to pay $14.99 shipping & handling. 'Handling' is the operative word here.

yeah, shipping is tough. the magazine i publish costs more to ship than the coverprice. fuel costs are really getting us
I do shipping with UPS and find that price very high.
Be careful that whoever is setting the price isn't calling it "shipping and handling". While the actual shipping might be a couple of bucks, they might be adding money to the "handling" part.
You'll find sellers do that a lot on ebay.
Sure there's more than 1 merchant selling the pen and pin.
If it hurts your feelings don't buy from them. Hidden and high fees are the hallmark of more than a few industries.
Hi everyone. I was buying Obama stuff from his store. I dont know why UPS wanted to charge so much, but I found out if you click "Other carriers" it offers USPS and it only cost me ~$3 for shipping which is a lot more reasonable.
