Car detailers - any local recommendations?

My girl had hers redone a while back. Will ask her tonight and post. She liked the guy who did it and the price was reasonable for a complete car paint job.

Your wife and mine must be friends. Last year I left her car at Peretti's on Alexis near Laskey. They did a fairly decent job, but I would make sure you give them the time to let it dry. They gave my wife her car too early and the wet upholstery gathered a lot of dirt as a result.

I did not do a lot of price comparison, so I can't really tell you if they were competitive or not.

I've got a car in that pigsty state too... keep those recommendations coming.

Could always take a vacuum cleaner out to the car and do it yourself. Take a bottle of Windex and upohlstery cleaner. Damp rags to clean the dash, and the price is right, just takes a little time and elbow grease.

Used to use Perretti's, but like MoreThanRhetoric, found that my carpet was more than a little damp.... it would take a day or more to dry all the way. Other than that, they did an okay job.

Lately I'm a fan of Russ's on Secor NEAR LASKEY. (The Russ's closer to Central does not detail.) They might miss a few small things, but they generally do a great job and the price is always right: watch for the $25 off coupon in one of the local mailers. Then you get another coupon $25 when you get the detail, as well as coupons for car washes at prices that are better than anyone else in the West Toledo area. The car wash folks move fast and are courteous! Imagine that!

I'm OCD about cleanliness, and pretty picky. Now, all that said and read, if there is someone better out there I will be more than willing to try them at least once!

The fact about auto carpets is that once they get wet, it is very hard to dry them. A good detail shop will shampoo them with the appropiate equipment and then try to circulate air to dry them. Especially this time of year.

When searching for an auto detailer, ask them these questions. Then check it upon pick up.

Detailing the inside of a car is not that difficult. Its all about having the right tools, chemicals and a little bit of knowledge, which are not that expensive and the knowledge is not hard to come by. We've come a long way since the days of Turtle Wax and Armor All. Save yourself some bucks and do some reasearch.

Exteriors are a little trickier but your average joe could do it in his driveway. Once again its all about the right tools, chemicals, and knowledge.

With that said, doing it yourself takes time which some people don't have alot of. If anybody is interested in learning about auto detailing, let me know, I can point you in the right direction.

I know someone who had her vehicle done at TST and they seem to do quality work with reasonable prices.

I assume you are talking about new technology in terms of wax? Should I not be using turtle wax and armor all anymore? :)
