I personally find it a good way to help support local businesses, as I have discovered many places I wouldn't normally have by searching through Yelp.

If you're looking at restaurants, browse around www.ToledoMenu.com. I have a friend and former co-worker who operates it.
You can do reviews as well as search for others.

Just wanted to bump this and see if anyone else is using yelp in the Toledo area. I added a yelp "app" on my phone which helps me remember to write reviews while at the location I'm reviewing. I think using yelp really helps keep crappy establishments in check and encourages people to try your favorite places. It's also useful for out of towners just passing through.
I just wanted to say a quick but heartfelt "Thanks!!" for all the interesting website links that posters bring out on this site! yelp.com was new to me and after a quick look, I know it's a site that I'll enjoy. Again, thanks guys!
I like Yelp, but take it as the site it is. Some people could have one bad experience or be disgruntled for whatever reason and make crap up, etc. I think we all have learned what the internet has brought us as far as being anonymous.
Agree with Ryan, but also like the site. Found it a while back, thought I had posted about it here. Ended up making an entry for Maggie Moo's :)
Yelp seems to compliment this site in some respects because we have a lot of discussions on places to eat, and places in general we like to shop.

Thanks for the tip. I do like reviews. Some may be from the owners and their supporters, but you can pretty much tell if the deck is stacked in that way. It's also good to know about places you didn't even know existed.
