Hat Repairs

Does anyone know of (with certainity) an individual or a business that does hat repairs?
I've been searching high and low both the Yellow Pages as well as online. It's looking like Hatters may be another lost trade? Maybe no money in it? Cheaper to buy new than repair? At any rate, if you know of anyone, please advise.
Thank You.

There is no mention of repair on theri web site but they might know who does. I found one in Australia listed under millinery repair.

Thank You holland.....and believe it or not, I had already contacted those 2 places. I've been looking for over a year now, this is sort of my last resort before giving up.
My hat is a peddlars type hat, with the small button down bill. The cardboard inside the bill is craked and broken in several places. The only real value of the hat is an emotional one as it was given to me by my Mother 20 plus years ago.
I'll take any suggestions I can get and Thanks Again!

You might try Gena Conti Millinery. It's in Wyandotte MI. And it appears they do mens' hats.

You might also check with reputable tailors, since they work with fabric and do alterations. My personal recommendation on tailors is Kayvon Mens Wear Tailoring at 3328 W Laskey Rd:(419) 473-9998.

There is an older gentleman who owns the place and does exceptional work. They have worked miracles on some clothing I was not ready to discard.

Kayvon Mens Wear Tailoring.......Nope.
Sonseeahray......Nope.
Gena Conti Millinery, waiting to hear back via email, no answer on phone.

I had the same thoughts about tailors and thought I had checked with all of them anywhere near west Toledo. I have now.

THANKS for the suggestions!! I am sure in my case the cost of repairs would exceed the value of the hat. To anyone other than myself that is. But alas, I'll keep looking.

They do! I had a men's style green felt hat I wore for a few years...got really attached to it..lost it a few months ago.. I feel like part of me is missing!
Didn' t cost much..got it at Value City. I can relate to you, angryconsumer. Hoping you find a place that does decent repairs.

There are a few hat repair vendors who solicit business online. Worth & Worth hat repair in NYC sems to have a good reputation, if you don't mind forking over a few bucks to ship the hat.
