Since I started a thread on restaurant closures, I figured I'd start one on recent openings too (but not limited to restaurants only :))
Gyms: Urban Active Fitness (Maumee location) and Super Fitness (on Reynolds.)
Eateries: Pizza Papalis

Someone is doing contruction next to Best Buy on route 20. Looks like some new companies are going to be there.
Unless they are just building it to build in hopes of getting a company in there.
Sonics is also kind of new.
There's also that male-oriented hair cut place on Monroe street. Have seen the ads on TV where they have leather lounge chairs in front of flat screen TV's in the waiting area.

The RE-opening of Petit Fours Patisserie & Café (ex-Perrysburg pastry/lunch cafe) at the Oliver House.
Ineedcoffee: Where's the Sonic?!
Slowsol: Say, within the last couple of months?
Toledolen: Good to know Petit Fours Patisseries is re-opening! I've been eyeing that place ever since I saw it on the dotoledo site.
Jdmsbyrd: I'm wondering that myself.
yes, people have tried it. i started a thread about it a couple weeks ago

PoshBug: Sonic is on US 20 in Rossford, basically in the parking of of Meijer.
New Mexican restaurant in the old Pondorosa on Secor. Can't remember the name of it.
Sam(mmy's?) breakfast on Central across from walmart..
hmm.. I'm sensing a theme here.

Drunkenwildmage: I was wondering why I've never heard people mention Sammy's Brunch on Central - now I know. Question is, has anyone been there?
Upso: I agree. Which major street in Toledo does not have a Wal-mart?
Sammy's might be more of a relocated business than a new one.
They used to have a restaurant at the corner of Central and Centennial, then moved into the old Big Boy location on Central across from WalMart.
Add to above...I haven't eaten at the new Sammy's. But the location that was at Central/Centennial wasn't bad. (Only ate there once or twice.)
Ooh...there is a different restaurant that opened in the "old" Sammy's location, but I can't think of the name off the top of my head. That should count as a "new" business since its a new owner/new genre.
PoshBug: add Crossfit Lifesport to your list of gyms. It's downtown, on Summit, just north of Cherry in the old Touch of Elegance store. The owner is an eastsider, ex-Waite front lineman 88-90 with an excellent fitness history, and Crossfit is a philosophy, not just another same old regimen. It's not just new, IT'S NEW!! (Sorry if this sounds like a commercial, I birthed the owner. ;p)
Sammy's seriously sucked the one time I was in there and now you say it moved into a better place. Must just be me.
The jury is still out on Sonic in this house, but rumor has it that we're getting one over here on Navarre, next to Ralphie's. Logical. Even now people are saving up for that big car trip to Cedar Point this summer!! Throw your net in!!
lol.
;p
These are all great businesses with high paying jobs...we're so screwed

Sonic is being built in Oregon, next to a new Hapton Inn hotel between Bob Evans and Ralphies.
I knew Sammy's was something like breakfast/brunch.. I didn't realize it had already existed at another location. All I could remember was the name, and the bright Yellow sign at the old Big Boy.. :)
Was there once.. It was ok...no great, but not bad....I would go back, but I wouldn't got out of my way to eat there.

El Sueno on Laskey near Wernert Corners.
FANTASTIC Mexican food. I knew it was going to be good when I saw the beans were not that fake deep brown and but instead had that authentic grey appearance. My lunch was $5.50 and it came with a taco, chili renello (HUGE pablano pepper filled with cheese and sauce, guac salad and beans and cheese. I could not eat it all, no way. Great service and prety good margies too.
