EPIC - Toledo's Young Professional Organization

I have heard about "EPIC" just by word of mouth. I am sure there are some people on here who have positives/negatives of this organization. Any info is greatly appreciated

my understanding is they don't get much done. they talk a big talk, but don't walk a big walk. not really worth any financial involvement but could be a fun group to meet new people through.

I spoke briefly with one of the members of EPIC a while back and was not impressed. They cost to join (don't remember how much but I don't think it was cheap) and I didn't see they doing anything more than sending out a newsletter.

Just my two cents.

Typical Toledo haters. "My understanding is"..."I spoke with one of the members". Have either of you been to any EPIC events? I have attended several events and I can tell you that the folks in the organization are putting their money where their mouth is, supporting Toledo area businesses, trying to make Toledo an attractive place to live and work, and having fun while doing it.

I don't know what anyone here expects EPIC to achieve, but basically EPIC is young(ish) professional types who are looking for networking opportunities, both business and social. It costs $75 to join, which doesn't seem too steep to my considering the opportunities it provides to its members. But if you would rather sit at home and complain about Toledo, that's your business.

ace_face I don't know a ton about EPIC, but have met some of their leaders. what sorts of opportunities do they provide their members? $75 seems steep just for networking.

I am looking into joining as well.

$75 is not to steep to join a professional organization. If one of those connections results in a new job, or increased business for your current job, then the membership fee has more than paid for itself.

You don't have to necessarily be a member of EPIC to attend their events. Go to one of their happy hours or other events and get an idea if that investment is something you would be interested in making.

good point. go to their events and find out for yourself if it's worth your time.
