Going Rate for Babysitters

We've got twin girls. 6 mos old. I'm wondering.....what are people paying per hour?

Also, how much do you think it'd cost us (approximately) per week (40 hrs) to have daycare? Both professional "business" daycare and in-home private daycare (we'd supply everything)? Any advice to offer?

I pay $5-8 for local teenage help for my seven year old. I wouldn't trust them with little kids... not that I really trusted many of the adults I've hired as well.

I used to pay $400 per week for someone to come into my house when my child around two.

And I paid $835 per month for Montessori from four years old to six.

We don't pay for babysitters often, but...

When we use a teenaged babysitter for an evening out, we usually pay around $6-$8 an hour. 2 kids, ages 4 & 5.

I'm not sure what the current going rate for daycare is. However, when I got quotes when my kids were first born, one infant was about $100 a week. I presume then that 2 infants would have doubled that rate. (We never ended up using daycare, but I called around to several places for prices in case we ended up needing to use it.)

my daughter works at a daycare in Sylvania. She says they would charge $168 per infant per week. She says they are one of the lowest. It goes down once the kids turn 18months.
