Toledo Talk

Chat rooms, forums.......

While Toledo Talk has always been a great site for me to visit, I'm surpirsed it doesn't get more traffic. Its a great tool. Maybe I'm over overestimating. I'm wondering if there is a "gold standard" for Toledo websites? Meaning....are the masses elsewhere? What other sites are getting the most traffic? Just curious......

I'd like to see Toledo Talk turn more into a forum type of design. There had been some good discussions from the past that would end up getting lost.

djimpelr, what about the recent activity view that you can access in the sidebar on the front page? It sorts threads by new posts and newly-commented posts. Make a comment in an old thread, and it will appear at the top of the list. When I don't login, which is most of the time, I view the site by the "recent activity" shortcut http://toledotalk.com/ra .

Having the site resolve straight up to http://toledotalk.com/ra might be a great thing...

I like this site just as it is. Go to Swamp Bubbles if you want annoying confusion.

ditto on not changing this place. It's calm, and with the way I can sort the threads, I can keep up. I'm on 3 other boards, in 2 yahoo groups, on Myspace, and AARP, and have 4 email addys.....it's tough to keep up! don't change it, jr.

It IS calm. I think the format is fine for the amount of traffic/commenting Toledo Talk gets.

I don't really visit any other Toledo-area-oriented boards, to answer the OP's question. There are a couple of other boards online that I do visit and participate in, but these are specific to other subjects.

I think the format here is fine. Traffic, though, makes it quite slow. Is there a Toledo oriented site that has a bit more "action"?

Most of the contributors here also participate on Swampbubbles. When JR took the site in a new directions a couple of years ago, SB took up the slack for all the really nasty and controversial stuff.

But you know...there is always room for a better mousetrap. Why don't you start one of your own and see where it leads.
