Had a great cheeseburger at Pat and Dandy's on Laskey the other day that was the best I have eaten in a while. I also enjoy J. Alexander's cheeseburger, though it is a bit pricey at about $9 with fries. The selling point at J's is they grind their own beef each day on site.

Happy Hour on Eleanor.

I don't know who serves the "best," but Bergers (Laskey - across from Miracle Mile) serves a pretty good one.

Rumours has a great one

Well..I second the burger at Berger's. I also really like the one at Schmuker's and then you can add a slice of excellent pie.

City Hall on Reynolds has great burgers and very good Margaritas.

Me... I haven't found a cheeseburger that can beat mine. The secret is to cook bacon in the pan you intend to cook the cheeseburger in, then cook the burger in the same pan which will use the bacon fat as a seasoning for the burger. Comes out delicious every time! Yeah, you'll have to spend some extra time in the gym the next day doing your Ian King program, but it's worth it.
I'll try some of the above, but I am always disappointed in burgers served at restaurants (sans a great place in Ann Arbor that serves multiple tasty patties on a single bun).

JJFad, try the Green Lantern and their Supersonic burger.

Will do! I'm always excited for new burgers. How's the price?

grumpys downtown hands down has one of the best gourmet burgers in town. for a cheaper alternative, gus' yumyum in north toledo (on summit) serves a killer burger too

Thanks all! Pat and Dandy's, Bergers, Happy Hour - all very close to where I live!

I also used to get good food at the Tropics Tavern - is that still serving decent grub?

People swear by Tropics, surprising, but true.

Saw the "man vs. food" guy in Minn. working on a "juicy lucy." two patties, cheese in the middle, rim pinched together making a big cheese pocket - then grilled.

I'm trying a home version soon.

I've had this said "juicy lucy" back when I lived in Minneapolis. Not bad.

TAHL-
I saw that show, too. I tried making it but I think I put too much cheese in the burger because the cheese began to spill out the cracks in the burger. Let me know if you perfect that burger because I'd like to give it another shot now that I have my grill up and running.

Is that not the best show ever? (Man V Food)

on april 5 at 2pm they are airing an episode I'd missed where he went to Columbus. He stops by Thurman's for a burger - Ive been there, did that.

The Thurman burger is the stuff legends are made of!

I'm glad you posted that billy. I was looking for a few local food stops while I'm in Columbus in May, but couldn't recall the name of the place the show visited.

Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives on another channel (Food channel, maybe?) is another great show that visits some amazing eateries. I usually drool through the whole show and have to snack after the episode finishes.

Both shows tempt my inner fat person to reveal itself.

There's no doubt that you'll get your belly busting share of food at the three restaurants Billy had mentioned. HOWEVEVER, speaking from personal experience, Schmidt's is overly hyped. Aside from the cream puffs, I found everything there to be mediocre at best.

Thurman's Cafe is a C-bus classic! Just be sure to expect an hour wait or so :)
