Oh, totally. There are a ton of Wii Fit activities suited for older folks. I think I read somewhere about Wii's being used for physical therapy. Nintendo does a great job in putting out games (like the brain games) that are super awesome for older folks.

I am old. I want one badly. Any suggestions as to which components are good for the out of shape senior?
My mother is 78 with Vascular Neuroposy in her hands and feet. She needs to exercise them continually or risk becoming totally disabled. Are there any programs or games out there any one can recommend to address these types of therapy requirements? I may buy one for her Mothers Day gift.
Wii Sports comes with the consol.

and the Wii Fit has it's own game, too.

I would do some Googling for more info on games that would specifically work for you're mother, Krazy.
Billy, all the games have different "levels" so you can start out slow and stay there, whatever is comfortable.
My wife's grandfather spent some time in a nursing home where they had a Wii in the Physical Activity room. The folks absolutely loved it.
As you can imagine, the Bowling game was most popular.

My in-laws borrowed our Wii for a few days to see if they'd like it enough to buy one for themselves.
It has been a few weeks, and we still haven't gotten it back yet...they use it all the time. lol
(Not a problem with me, because we've had a busy month and probably wouldn't have used it much. Though I'd like it back eventually.) :)
BTW - I believe St Charles Hospital has a Wii Fit program that they have implemented for certain patients. Not sure of all the particulars, someone might be able to find more info via Google. Apparently it has been quite popular.
I won a Wii last year. When we had Christmas with my family, we took it up to Michigan to my sisters house. My mom, who is 71, had a BLAST and now wants one herself! And the only thing she played on mine was the sports pack that comes with it! She said if she does get one herself, she's going to get the Wii Fit and the board so she can exercise and lose weight!
So yea, older people can and do enjoy the Wii very much!

As a fitness nut, I hope these new technologies motivate seniors to move more and inspire them toward frequency of use, increased intensity and continued use as well as encourage other healthy activities.
