I realize this isn't a Tech Support board but giving this a shot none the less.
I recently re-installed the OS on 2 of my Dell Dimension PC's. After doing so, on one of them I can not get the IE window to open full size/Maximized no matter what I do. I have tried all the normal avenues, such as opening to the size I want and then closing, expecting it would re-open the same size as when closed. That failed. Also have tried changing the "Run" command in IE properties shortcut to "Maximize". That failed as well.
Why I only have this issue on 1 of the PC's baffles me almost as much as the issue itself.
Both are Win XP, IE 7 and I did all the same Window updates after re-install on both of them including Win XP Service Pack 3.
This might be relevant, I am not sure: On the PC I have no issue with, the IE icon on the desktop is a Shortcut. On the other PC, the one I can not get the windows to open Maximized, the desktop icon is the actual icon FOR IE, NOT a shortcut. From all I have read I thought it was not even possible to have that icon on the desktop with Win XP Service Pack 3. Apparently I'm wrong. Microsoft assisted me with this re-install but I do not remember HOW the tech put that icon on the desktop. So on this PC, I have both, the IE icon as well as the Shortcut Icon that created in an effort to achieve my goal per the MS support article I have been using which is : http://support.microsoft.com:80/kb/555217
Whoa is me.
Any suggestions?
