There are so many interesting screen names on this board that I began to wonder about the story or stories behind them. Mine? Taken from Fleetwood Mac's "Gold Dust Woman" on the Rumors album. Fell in love with the song in high school (great! Just dated myeself!). Have always loved the mystical sound of Stevie Nick's voice along with the instrumentals.
Where did you get your screen name?

Two big passion hobbies: Offshore (deep-sea) fishing and surfing. And, since I’m not very resourceful you can probably get into my garage doors with the same name.
Well, to put it simply, I'm Holly LOL

I have never heard Hole's version.. Is it good?

It is on The Crow soundtrack and I personally love it. I am a big Hole fan in general though. I saw Stevie Nicks at DTE a few years back and she puts on a very good show.
mine is pretty self-explanatory as well...

Ryan hole is great, i got the honor of having first row seats when they opened up for NIN way back when up at pine knob. She's killer live.
I will try to see if that version is on Youtube.... I hate both of ya... I love Stevie and Hole....

OK, just watched the vid on Youtube... It is a good version, very grungy and hard which I guess goes well with the song since it is about cocaine. But, I still prefer Fleetwood's version because of the ethereal, mystical feel to it. When Stevie wore the great dresses that flowed at the sleeves- just so darn cool....

hockeyfan- I started the Toledo Street Hockey League and love hockey. Not a real big story to tell.
I was super PO'd about a couple of rotten customer service experiences. I really should not have registered with it, but, as they say, it is what it is, just a label.

Ran across the demon of darkness and chaos, Apep, while doing some research on Egyptian mythology a while back. I took the Greek name of Apep, Apophis, and combined it with where I live, Toledo, to get what I thought was a fairly unique screen name.

I've had both dogs and cats throughout my life, but dogs have always been my first love. So "dogsrule." Nothing against cat lovers. I love my cat, too. But dogs have always touched my soul. Maybe it's in the DNA.

College attended. Screen name used to be "um", but I don't remember my password for the account and for some reason the system won't let me reset the password.

Same here. However, I'm not the only one using that screen name. I've seen a few of us on other boards and social sites.

And as a followup, great idea for a thread and kudos to the Stevie Nicks fan.
Boy, everyone has interesting user names. Mine is boring with absolutely no personal meaning. I couldn't think of a username when I was registering, and the news was on. It was being reported that the Secret Service had given the code name "Renegade" to President Obama. Apparently, the Secret Service assigns code names to presidents. So that's it. Yaaaaaawwwwwnnnnn.
JJFad College? I almost went there. In Kentucky, right, lol. Seriously, where is that?
Oh, and Golddustwoman, welcome to the board. Great thread! I like serious threads, too, but I really love the creative, light-hearted ones! You get a gold star.
my last name is Goatgruff and I hate trolls...

My name is a variation on how you would actually find me in the phone book.
Dangerous, I know. Heh. What can I say? I seek thrills, LOL.
Actually, when I registered here I was on this kick where I was tired of dealing with different usernames-identities online, and a bit disenchanted by anonymous web postings all over the Internet that can be really mean-spirited or otherwise provocative without the poster taking responsibility for the things he or she said. So I decided to register as my real self, knowing that if there was something to say that I couldn't say as ME, well, then I shouldn't be saying it.
To be honest, though, occasionally I've regretted it. ;) Especially because, oddly, there is someone else using this name ALL OVER the web, and it's his real name, too.

My first name, and part of my last name.
Annie C........ski
My creativity really came out when I named myself here...I'm a mom of 2 kids. lol
J (first letter of first name) J (first college attended) F (second college attended). Was JJ on marketwatch.com, then JJF didn't seem right so just added the "ad" for reference to early rapper.
Has nothing to do with the dark side of The Force or Star Wars....I used to collect comic books-in a big way. did so from the 60s on, and Stan Lee & Jack Kirby changed my life (and the lives of millions) forever. In the 70s, there was a brief period where Jack Kirby left Marvel due to being pissed off about not having control over any of the characters he'd helped create over the years, and went to DC comics for a few years. During that period, he created some more memorable characters, one of them being the complicated super-villain Darkseid. I thought he was great, and about the only villains in comics I ever liked better were Doctor Doom (also co-created by Kirby & Lee), The Joker, The Foolkiller, and Thanos.
J (first college attended) F (second college attended).
lol, don't leave us hanging, c'mon.
What are the colleges? I guessed Findlay for F (assuming you're from this area), no idea about J (John Carroll??)
Hah, sorry. Didn't think anyone really cared to know. Yes, John Carroll for first J, F is Fordham. Ended up finishing masters at UT, as well as law school at UT, but I have no idea how to work those into the name.
Mine is a pretty self-explanatory attempt at self depriating humor. We are all assholes till you need us, and then as soon as were done, were back to full asshole status.
Thats ok - I was a cop before-- I'm used to it.

Moved here from the DC area several years ago, but still consider myself a newbie here.
Was born in Toledo moved just across the state line into Michigan from Point Place when I was like 6. We did most of everything in Toledo or Point Place. Still identify more with Toledo than anywhere in Michigan until the OSU/MSU battle rolls around. So on any given day I might cross the state line 10 times.
