chopped liver... mmmmmm
you really don't see liver on my menus these days
I am not sure who sells it, but Giorgios serves it with their bread and crackers. I made some a few weeks back, it's not that hard and you control the flavor.
Ryan, did you use chicken fat in it and if so, where did you get that or did you make it?

I did not and I don't think it is really necessary either. I mean, the livers themselves render fat so if you must, you can use that I guess. When I make something I am not that familiar with I wil usually look at a couple different recipes and pull what I think works best from all if them. Try it and let me know how it goes. I will say this; pay attention to portions. I bought what I thought would make a nice bowl and ended up with so much I threw alot out. Not because it wasn't tasty, but you just shouldn't eat very much of that stuff.
You can find great Kosher style chopped liver at the Deli in The Fresh Market at Westgate.. Good stuff and reasonable.
Thanks Ryan, I will try it and let you know. I love liver but want to keep my arteries from imploding... And, gunz1, I feel like a total idiot- I had never heard of the Fresh Market- I don't go by Westgate that often... I looked at their website and it looks like a store that I should be barred from- others include Sofos, Sautter's, Monnette's, and Andersons... I love to cook and spend too much in those places...LOL... Going to go there soon.

I could spend a weekend in Monettes and still spend 20 bucks!
I love the dried green beans at Fresh Market. Mmmmmmmm.
Getting the craving now for a take-out Liver & Onions dinner from Frisch's. I actually think it's one of the best in town, you can cut it with a fork.
