Viewpoints: TAKEN

"If you don't give my Daughter back-I will track you down. I will find you. And I will kill you."
And with those words, Liam Neeson endears himself to the spirit of Charles Bronson forever. Nothing you haven't seen before (and done better by lesser actors), this is nothing more than your typical Bronson/Segal implausible, sadistic, and ultimately boring violent revenge movie. Neeson's character's Daughter is kidnapped in Europe, by Albanian white slavers, naturally, he just happens to be an ex-CIA assassin who can take out an army, and everyone else in the movie is a bad shot even at close range. It would actually have been better with Segal in it, at least you would have known what to expect going in. Done by the director of the "Transporter" movies, so that tells you it's over the top (Staham would have been better, too-an actor the caliber of Neeson wasting himself in a POS like this only makes it worse by giving it some credibility in advance). Your time and money will have been TAKEN!! You have been warned.

Will probably rent it, I was 50/50 when I saw the previews though I don't expect much.

Liam is a good actor, he was amazing in Rob Roy.

Better than expected -- good flick.

Don't suffer through Terminator Salvation - two hours and $20 I will never get back.

I intended to avoid that one. Why bother with a Terminator movie if you don't have Ah-Nuld? The first one was the only one I really liked, though-saw it several times at the theatre-the others, I waited for home video, and thought they sucked. Sorry, I know most loved that second one,but-I can try to suspend belief as much as I want, but I cannot buy a liquid machine. A lifeform that changes shape, ok, but not a machine,

Did hear Ah-Nuld was created with CGI for a few scenes in the new one.

What makes you think Ah-Nuld isnt in this one??

I thought that it was too much like "Ransome" when I heard about it, but a friend recommended it. I have it on dvd and will give my opinion when I watch it.

Darkseid vs Friend

LOL Guess I'm outvoted on this one, but I stick to my guns-it's a familiar, dark, depressing, sadistic , over-the-top Steven Segal movie where the 'hero' is as vile as the villains, hence I could feel no connection with the protaganist- only they used a far better actor. Everybody forms their own opinion, though. I was for a change with the professional critics on that one-most of them said about the same things I did.

Just think Darkseid always the "It" remake to look forward to (laughs). :)

Yeah-also 'reimagining' ALIEN and CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. I smell CGI crapfests approaching.
