I sure wish you had posted this earlier. I just saw it, but I'll watch for future meetings. I live in this neighborhood and crime is increasing. Last night, several cars and houses in a row were broken into right down the street from me. And, one of my neighbors, who has lived in her home for 40 years, is moving because thieves are living right next door on government assistance. She's sure they broke into her home, but she has no proof. We all need to watch out for each other better.

Sorry, tjintoledo, I meant to post this info a day or two earlier.

The area blanketed with fliers for last night's meeting included homes between Laskey and Sylvania on the north and south and Douglas and Secor on the east and west. It was said at the meeting that approximately 2000 to 2500 homes exist within this boundary. Around 75 people attended last night's meeting.

The plan is for this area to be divided into two blockwatches, assuming enough interest exists. At least one or two Area Leaders are needed per blockwatch. I along with several others signed up as a Block Captain who reports to the Area Leaders who are the conduits to the Toledo Police Department.

If no one volunteered to be an Area Leader, then it's probable that a blockwatch will not be established and no more meetings will occur. I saw one name on the sheet, volunteering as an Area Leader.

That meeting is the blockwatch for the Hampton Park / Drummond area... If you are looking for something in your area (Angola road?) I don't have information on that area... If you are interested, I can post the TPD phone number to see if there is an established block watch.
