8 year old boy hit by bat at Mud Hens game - bloody photo in paper?

Okay, I understand why they may have published the story. But it struck me as odd that they would publish a photo of the 8 year old boy on a stretcher (with a bloody shirt and shorts, no less).

Though I guess nothing should be surprising any more.

Hope the little guy is okay. He'll have a heck of a story to tell later. Hopefully he at least gets invited back and gets the chance to meet some of the Mud Hens players...hooking the kid up with some tickets and autographs is the least they could do!

I don't think the photo is in poor taste. It tells the story without being gratuitous. The kid will probably frame it, have it autographed, and hang it on his wall.

What the photo does is teaches the lesson to pay attention to the game.

Stephen Ward will probably call a press conference about the issue

Hope he's okay. It's not the last time he'll get bloodied. Sorry about the shorts!

(laughing at Billy's comment)

I can just see Ward's campaign press release now:

"Ward Takes Stand Against Flying Bats"

or

"Ward Calls for Peace between Bats and Boys"
