You are correct. Garbage pick up on Friday will be moved to Monday due to the holiday.

Thank you. The holiday is on Sat, not Fri. I didn't know they were off a day before.

most people get a 3 day weekend, including govt. workers :)

I think the general rule of thumb is that if the holiday falls on Saturday, people will be off on Friday.

If the holiday falls on Sunday, then Monday is the "day off."

(At least, that's the way it has been for all of my previous employers - not sure if the city follows the same rule or not?)
