Obama 'Joker' Poster Causing a Stir in L.A.

http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-obama-posters,0,940643.story

Sounds like a bunch of whining to me.

""Depicting the president as demonic and a socialist goes beyond political spoofery," says Hutchinson, "it is mean-spirited and dangerous."

First off - Demonic?? It's the Joker from Batman, fer cryin' out loud...

Secondly - May we call the Whaaambulance for you??

Wonder how the same crowd felt about the pictures of Bush as the devil, a chimpanzee, or Hitler for eight straight years??

Shiiiiiit... If someone put out the same chimpanzee photos they used for W, and put obama next to them, it'd be pretty much like it was when the Danes put out Mohammed cartoons...

They did do that before after the chimpanzee attacked its owner awhile back. But you have to admit, that is a whole other connotation than “dumb monkey”.

I kinda like the Obama as the Joker posters, inventive if nothing else.

If you like the "Joker" poster try this one: http://www.barackobamawebpage.com?barack_obama_race_obsession-01.htm

Funny how the GW pics never made it onto Drudge, and subsequently the mainstream media.

Either address I posted works just fine.

An artsy magazine like Vanity Fair is not considered mainstream media. I'm talking about CNN

Vanity Fair is artsy?

I thought CNN is the race-chasing network.

Could be. They're also a "birther" network. But they're definitely mainstream.

Regardless, alot of this went on with Bush. It's only a bigger deal with this one because it's now Obama.

Anyhow, wouldn't the Joker be a bad fit? Wasn't he a wild capitalist?

There were tons of pics of Bush as Hitler and so on....but I don't recall the mainstream media ever discussing one.

Could it be because those pieces of Bush were so commonplace? Could this Obama piece gain more attention because the artsy challenges have been much fewer for him?

Possibly because the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President, or any other Urban Policy Roundtable President called a press conference to whine about them?

Freedom of speech is wonderful. Whine away, Democrats! You have every right to, like the poster maker had every right to! LOL

Oh, look, more freedom of speech in action:

It's at times like this, when people can be very offensive, and nobody can stop them ... is when I love this country.

And just in case anyone thinks I'm being some partisan nitwit who devolves into "racism" when it comes to President Barack Obama, I called Bush "the first Hitler of the 21st Century" many times. I'm tired of being ruled by corporate lackeys who are out to make you and myself POOR.

posted by GuestZero on Aug 06, 2009 at 11:20:02 am     #

That's funny, I thought I was taking a shot at the corporate media--not free speech. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

Just read this today. The artist is a fellow Chicagoan, who supported Kucinich, a Democrat. Plus he's of Palestinian decent.....wonder if he's still a racist?

Four years ago, he'd be tortured over this.

He supports Kucinich, and yet prefers Republican domestic ideals? Hmm...

Very early on the drudge report did report on Bush as Hitler. It was reported on by the media as well. But it became so commonplace that to report it as breaking news itself would have been funny.

I wonder when Comedy Central will spoof President Obama with a sitcom?
