Dave's Tropical Fish

Does anyone have any information about this business? It's on Lewis Ave. in what looks like a house (as opposed to a regular storefront).

They always seem to have designer puppies for sale, and I'm wondering if it's a puppy mill.

Here are some reviews:

Note that anyone can post a review tho - including Dave, or his competition, so you need to take them with a grain of salt.

BBB rates them as an A, with one lodged complaint in the last 36 months - the complaint is listed as 'resolved'.

Without getting into details, I wouldn't use them. If you are seeking a puppy, choose a rescue or humane society-type organization.

If you want a specific breed, find a breeder.

I wouldn't consider getting any dog bred with a tropical fish...not again at least.

I agree with HF, and I mean no offense to pet shops ... but we have far too many puppies, kittens, cats and dogs requiring adoption. I want you all to think precisely about them getting gassed to death ... so you'll do the right thing when purchasing, and you'll do the right thing about spaying and neutering.

it sucks that they sell other pets besides fish. when I was a teener (60's), I had 4 tropical tanks and all but one were bought from Dave's. I learned a lot from those people, they were nothing but tropical fresh and salt water tanks then, it was a fairyland for me. They're the ones who told me to crush my excess snails for fresh high-protein fish food. I raised 2 tanks of angel fish breeders that way and they bought my extras. can't imagine what that place is like inside with puppies now. :(
