Wish they built a new coaster.
Cedar Point's new ride for 2010

They had a "Shoot the Rapids" when I was kid. It sounds like a remake.
Lame.

It's almost like a combination of Snake River Falls, and Thunder Canyon

You should see the reviews on Cedar Points Facebook page. A majority of comments are from those who are quite disappointed to say the least....

I guess the word that all of the kids are using these days is "epic." For example, "the new ride is an epic dissapointment." It seems that everyone is upset with the hype that Cedar Point was generating for this seemingly tame and non consequential ride.
Reminds me of the Log Jammer in Kennywood (Pittsburgh, PA). Was my favorite as a kid.

True...It may not be a mile high scream machine but it is nice that they have built something the entire family can enjoy including the littler ones. You can call it Lame but it just may be a sensible idea to attract more visitors then just the teens and young adults to the park.
I also remember a ride by the same name in my early years of visiting CP. Glad to see they brought it back.
Yes,
Cedar Point Did have a water ride called Shoot the Rapids. which operated from 1968 to 1981. It was replaced by white water falls. I can speak highly of that ride as a former Cedar Point Ride host in 1975-1976. I'm glad that they are building a ride for the family to enjoy.
Best of Luck Cedar Point!!

I was amazed at how far people come to work there during the summers. I knew several college kids from West Virginia that migrated to Sandusky to work there for the summer.
Always had the same story: made no money, living expenses in the dorm like area took most extra funds, but they wouldn't trade it for everything.
Heard so many heartfelt stories about hanging out with friends after the park closed and such.
