Does Fleeger's still have a store on Glanzman & Byrne?
I believe they are going to keep that one open.

That's a shame. It's probably hard for them to compete with The Andersons, Lowe's, and Home Depot. I go into the one on Byrne from time to time. They are always super-friendly but I have to admit that I typically have only made small, insignificant purchases there when the convenience of their location and the easy in-and-out offsets the (usually) slightly higher price, and when I know exactly what it is I'm looking for and don't need tons of options to choose from.
I use the one on Byrne quite a bit if I want to save time. The big box stores might have a better selection, but they don't have free popcorn like Fleegers has.LOL!

Buckeye278 - If I need anything and I am driving by I stop there. When you talk about buying local, they are the first thing that comes to mind.
If we as a community picked a local business in need and all went to buy from them we could save them overnight. We need to protect our own.

Im a former Janney's customer. Gave them my business no matter what.
They're gone now, so I went to Lowes for what I needed (cant remember what...) They didnt have what I needed, and the guy helping me actually said "That's something you'd probably want to go to a Hardware store for!"
I went up to the hardware store up in Lambertville and they had it right away...
I'm also a former Janney's customer. They still offer many things in their repair location just a little up the street from where their big store was.
I loved Janneys because of the selection. Yes they were a little more expensive, but I didn't mind paying that. My only regret was not buying enough to be able to keep them in business.
I was born and lived on Bancroft west of Crissy Rd (1946-1951). Fleegers started out as a feed store. Chicken feed came in printed bags with designs. My parents purchased chicken feed and mom made me shirts from the fabric.
RE: Janney's
I miss the pop corn as well as the great service. Had problems with the mower repair shop though.
We are fortunate enough to still have a Janneys out in the Point. I try to stop there before a box store if possible, way more convenient.
There's a Janney's out in the point? Holy Toledo! Is Werkman Ace Hardware there, too?
Okay, you got me. It’s an Ace. I think, lol. Been there a hundred times and will have to really pay attention when I pass it today.
Smartass. :)
