Pub Grub for Westies?

Im getting a craving for good pub grub. Do any of you old school West Toledoans know if a couple of my old fav's are still putting out decent grub?

Pat and Dandy's and the Tropic? 10 years ago, BOTH of em served up some fantastic eatin' but I havent been to either one of em in years...

One of the tastiest chicken breast sandwiches is featured at Dale's (downtown Maumee). It's called the Bob Ueker (everthing on the menu is named after sports figures).

Ask for a basket of salted peanuts in the shell. No charge. Drop the empty shells on the floor- they absorb the dust that we bring in on our shoes.

Like Irish stout? They have Guinness on draught.

Not sure about P&D’s. Last I heard they were getting a divorce and had no clue about the fate of the place. Overpriced their top shelf so was never a regular.

But Tropics is still the real deal. But don’t let the secret out. And in that same area is Happy Hour on Eleanor if you want a fantastic burger.

Tropics still has great pub grub! (and a $5.00 breakfast!)

Rumor has it they may shut down for a bit for some foundation work....better get in there soon.

Also agree with Ryan on Happy Hour! Don't let the atmosphere in these bars turn you off!!

We love the Tropic as well, but you need to also try Daddy-Oh's on the corner of Monroe St. and Algonquin. They have great sandwiches and pizza. Try the tomato bread, too!

valbee...I've been to Daddy-Oh's twice and both times their cook didn't show up!! Ahh..drinks were good, anyways!

I've heard their pizza is good.

The Tropics, yes, and The Brownstone Tavern.

Karen, we're usually there on Sundays for football and there's always been a cook. I do recall, however, one Thursday evening that we stopped up and the cook never showed. I think the bartender ended up cooking for us. It was still good!

I will not give up on Daddy-Oh's. I will get there soon and eat!

How about Trotters - Get the Scottish Eggs - hard boiled eggs enveloped in sausage, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried. Served with a spicy brown mustard…sure it will kill you, but you’ll die happy.
