Ambrosia restaurant, the former Mezzmerize, XO, Sidlines, etc.

Went there this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Great food, service and fantastic atmosphere. I found the pita bread to be way too hard for my liking, but everything else was top notch. Give it a try next time you are out in Maumee.

And no I don't work there or own it, etc. Most of you know I am just a hog is all. ;)

What type of food do they serve?

Oh sorry, Mediterranean. Good stuff and great prices. Even top shelf was priced right.

On the opposite corner is the Lebanese place called Sahara, while not too up scale inside, the food is great and the prices are reasonable too.

The new place is pretty good - the prices are reasonable. My husband LOVES their turkish coffee. The prices really shocked me, it was VERY affordable.

I think this building has consumed yet another business. Lights out and no cars at 7:00pm Saturday night.

I lunch there a couple of weeks ago. Food was just OK and service sucked...not sad to see it go.

Wasn't it a brew house at one time? Accura dealership before that?

A cursed building, what's next

It's built on cursed Indian burial ground. They could put something ToledoTalkers have demanded for years in there, like Trader Joe's or World Market, and it'd fail inside a year.

The strip club was doing well but the city decided to shut it down. I have yet to see any other business last over a year there.

The strip club survived because it had plenty of customers right down the street.... the night shift from UPS.

Molson, it was several microbreweries before it became an Acura dealership and then a microbrew again.

I still have a glass I stole, er, borrowed, from there when it was Hops Brewery.

Well we know why the Hop Brewery went out of business now. Way to go, Anniecski.

I thought Hops was further West on Dussel where either Longhorn or Bluewater Grille is?

Hops was further down the road - next to Mancy's Bluewater Grill.

And, if I'm not mistaken, this location started out as an Acura dealership then was a micro brewery, etc. Lots of folks have lost LOTS of $$ investing in the various businesses that have come and gone.

I worked in Arrowhead Park for 17 years. We had running bets on how long the latest incarnation would last.

The problem is Arrowhead Park can only support so many restaurants and you need a lunch crowd. Those coming off the expressway have a lot to pick from before reaching that spot. Now a destination restaurant like Ruth's Chris might work.

Only place that could do well there would be maybe a J's or some highend resturant chain.

Whats a J's?

posted by Ryan on Nov 23, 2010 at 11:58:41 am     #

umm isn't Ruth's Chris a highend restaurant chain?

J Alexander I assume

No resteraunt will do well there. The resteraunt business is about one thing LOCATION and this site has proven not to be it.
