Food challenges in toledo?

i'm watching "man VS food" on the travel channel and wondering if toledo has any food challenges I don't know about?
any restaurants you know of that have a challenge? such as "eat XXX amounts of hot dogs or spicy tacos to win a prize"

anything like that in toledo?

You should win a prize if you can eat anything at Luckys.

I find the indigestion from several local restuarants challenging.

What's the name of the bar/restaurant across from the erie st market?

they used to have a challenge - a burger with 6 half pound patties on it and 3lbs of fries. If you can eat it, they'll name it after you.

Ha, I don't know of any challenges locally, but we love Man vs. Food at our house!

I run an extra mile whenever I workout to Man vs. Food. If not for myself, then certainly for Adam!

I'm sure Tony Packo's will come up with a food challenge of some sort with their chili dogs.

Working out to Man v. Food is a totally great idea! Thanks for the tip.

His Pittsburgh episode was awesome :) I'm sure several of my pounds are still from Primanti Brothers lol, I stop there every time I drive through the burg.

Big Apple Deli on Woodville had the "Timzilla" at one time. Finish it and get your picture on the wall. Don't know whether they still do it or not.

JB Sarnies in Levis Commons has a food challenge, The Pounder!!! You have one hour to finish and if you succeed you get you name on the wall and a t-shirt. Chet & Matts Pizza in Sandusky have a good food challenge also.

I'd like to add a food challenge to our menu. Any suggestions? Spicy or quantity. Or spicy AND quantity?

The Chili Mac Challenge. It seems to be a local specialty (and it would be cheap to serve an enormous amount). I would go for quantity: serve it in a big popcorn bowl or a metal bucket or a (clean) hardhat and call the media for funny photos.

After you get known as the place to go Man vs. Mac, then issue a taste-off challenge to the several dozen other Toledo places that serve it. Donate the proceeds to a charity. The media coverage would be pretty valuable.

When Jed's was on the other side of the turnpike on Reynolds, they had a 69oz steak or something ridiculous like that.

20 years ago, Bruno's Pizza (on Dorr at Byrne and in the Parkway Plaza Maumee) used to have some huge pizza that I think was free if a single person could finish it in 30 minutes.

There is a new food challenge at Deet's BBQ in Maumee!! They have a challenge called the Macho Nacho and it is 6lbs of their pulled pork nachos. If you eat it all you get your money back, a t-shirt, and your picture on the wall! Was just there yesterday and no one had done it yet.

The Eagle's Nest has an ice cream challenge. Eat seventeen scoops of ice cream and get it for half off, with a t-shirt saying you survived. Definitely not up for that.
