WTOL Your Morning this morning

Did anybody else see the end of today's episode? Dan Bumpus did the most childish thing and tackled somebody into the snow. He knocked the guy down and I honestly think he sustained a head injury. I felt really bad for this guy (a producer or director or something, not sure who??). It was an immature and dangerous decision by this "professional."

I never met the guy, so all I have to go on is what I've seen on tv. First he was on fox, then switched over to WTOL. Either way, I think he comes across as being a typical phony reporter with his "ewwws" and "ahhhs" like he's actually concerned for the stories he reports.

Our TV stations actually do reports? Of something that's truly newsworthy as opposed to the usual weather terrorism they inspire? Or the bloody car accident somewhere out in the hinterlands?
I must have missed them.

I've never seen a couple inches of snow get so much hype and attention. Of course you need the following:
Reporter standing outside to tell us its snowing
Picture of Salt trucks getting ready
People buying rock salt and snow shovels at Home Depot or Andersons
etc, etc

Hoops, you forgot the reminder to bring in your pets and elderly.

Remember the constant updates regarding the milk and bread inventory at local groceries whenever foul weather used to hit? Because if I was stranded in my home for a week, milk and bread would be first and only choices for sustenance.

In my late teens I always thought, "Screw the milk and bread report, how are the beers and smokes holding out?" I mean c'mon people, lets get our priorities straight here.

I remember delivering the Toledo Times a few days after the Blizzard of '78 hit, and the first and second moving vehicles I encountered were beer trucks. They were plowing through the drifts with the confidence and purposefulness of an entity on a higher mission. Even Mother Nature couldn't stop impede their passage.
It was a beautiful thing.

Beautiful post, SavageFred. I want you to be a TV weatherman ... if you were, I would tune in to get a useful weather/shopping analysis!
