New Metropark

Hats off to that. The Toledo Metroparks are honestly some of the best I have ever been to anywhere.

Awesome! I know were eventually getting one downtown on the river front near the high level bridge. Good to know the metroparks are chugging along even in a time when Toledo in general is moving backwards!

Need a new metro park starting with Summit street 200 yards on either side starting at broadway and ending at cherry street.

I wonder if the powers that be will plant any more trees there, or just leave the land bare for playing fields.

Here's some trees, http://www.fast-growing-trees.com/FastestTrees.htm , that grow pretty fast in Ohio. I especially like the first one: the Empress tree. I guess with the ash borer sowing havec in our area ashes probably won't be planted.

Oldsendbrdy, I suspect they will be planting a LOT of trees.

What I'd like to find out is, what are the plans for the land at 5602 SWAN CREEK DR. There was (might still be there) a house on the lot, but it's now owned by "BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONER S OF THE METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT OF TOLEDO AREA". The Metro Parks also own the giant lot behind it as well.

The Metro Parks only got the land in 2004 and since they've added a nice fence and gate, but I haven't seen or heard anything else.

Since this is by neighborhood, I’d love for them to open it to the public. For now though the gate is closed. How would someone even go about finding the long term plans for the land?

We truly are blessed with a great Metropark system.
I'd love to see a Metropark in the north/west toledo area.
