Went to "The Ruins of Detroit". Like a set for an apocalyptic movie.

the mayor of detroit was interviewed today and stated he put forth a plan to save what is left of detroit. city gov't will be using "imminent domain" to obtain personal property inorder to reduce the size of the city. for some, it will be a horrible experience as they will be forced out of their home and will have to relocate. the city will "compensate" the property owner - but what is a home stitting on a lot worth in detroit?

This link, http://www.detroitparcelsurvey.org/pdf/reports/DRPS_citywide_vacancy_housing.pdf , goes to a document that shows parts of Detroit that might be "saved" for the future city. Over a third of Detroit's properties are vacant, http://www.freep.com/article/20100220/BUSINESS04/2200371/Survey-finds-third-of-Detroit-lots-vacant .
